Student events were where I made my start in both the music/events industry, and then later in the design sector. It is a pleasure to still be involved with Freshers week more than a decade after my own start at university. Thanks to NUA Students Union for bringing me back in once again to design the visual brand for this year's series of Freshers events. We built on last year's concept that centred around a pineapple, with this year's fruit (chosen by NUA student vote) being a cherry. Often interpreted as a feminine fruit, part of the brief was to ensure gender neutrality and inclusivity throughout the visual language.
